Job Description
Duties and Responsibilities

Interpret at both Conciliation and Arbitration proceedings if and when required
Screen Calls and route calls accurately
Take accurate messages and forward them timeously
Answer queries regarding cases
Welcome visitors and redirect them to the appropriate person
Ensuring neat administration of the following:
– Sorting and distribution of Correspondence

– Reception area

– Courier documents and parcels as and when requested

Screening and routing of incoming and outgoing mail – hand delivered (courier)
Assist with administrative duties as and when required
Assist with filing and archiving
Overseeing that all air conditioner and windows are closed in the boardrooms at the end of day
Assist with other functions as per Managing Commissioner’s instruction
Capturing referrals on the CCMA case management system.
Knowledge / Experience / Skills / Abilities

Above average verbal communication and listening skills
Ability to withstand pressure and provide above average services
Must at all times be diplomatic and assertive
Ability to work independently and use initiative along with problem solving abilities
Ability to build strong effective relationships with all stakeholders, i.e. Parties of the Council, Clients and management team
Adopt appropriate interpersonal style in achieving task accomplishment, modifying behavior according to tasks and individuals involved
Must be a good team player and achieve objectives as set out by the Managing Commissioner
Must be meticulous in carrying out tasks/instructions etc
Must be patient
Knowledge of the Dispute Resolution Centre processes would be an advantage
Knowledge of the Case Management System would be an advantage

Job Requirements:
Qualifications

An appropriate grade 12 certificate and/ or equivalent academic qualification
Customer orientated behavior essential (walk-inns, employees and employers, trade union officials and employers’ organisations as well as attorneys).
Presentable and professional attitude
Computer Literacy
Proficient in at least 03 Official languages, including English and Afrikaans
Prior experience in interpreting in Statutory Labour Dispute Resolution processes
